Her uncle, Carl Merz, arranged for her to come to Worland where she worked at Merz Bakery and lived with the family. She became a citizen in 1961.

After and the birth of her three children she cleaned houses, worked as a janitor at West Side School, and retired after 19 years as a cook at South Side School.

Ruth enjoyed crocheting and by contrast - tending the goats and small animals on their West River property.  Summers spent with her family at the Saw Mill Cabin on Bear Trap were treasured memories. She was a devoted Mother and friend to her children.

Survivors include her children: Robert Eggleston, Sue Eggleston of Worland, Carl Eggleston (Patricia) of Powell; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins - most of whom still live in Germany.

As per her request, there will be no formal services.  Donations may be made in memory of Ruth to the Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in care of Bryant Funeral Home, P.O. Box 524, Worland, WY. 82401
